Gurl,
My doodle Daniel and I moved into our place in Toronto in September. To this day we have done NOTHING to our bedroom. It’s making me RUL cray cray, I won’t lie. I feel like I need a bedroom that I enjoy being in, so I’m taking charge and getting this bedroom DONE LIKE DINNER. Some of the problems are as follows; Our bed is nonexistent; it’s a mattress on the floor. The walls are a nasty shade of sage green, and everything we own is mismatched. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say it’s pretty much a GIANT HOT MESS.
In taking charge, I decided to bring you all along for the ride and really take the time and money to do this right. To be honest I have no idea where this money is going to come from, but whatever, I’ll save up. I really believe in investing in quality things that you love.
Step one of “The Bedroom Project” is finding inspiration and determining what you like.
Inspiration:
These are 6 of MANY inspiration pictures I saved from Apartment Therapy and magazine clippings.
What did I learn from my inspirational pictures?
- I’m an 80 year old lady
- Organized clutter is a total YES
- I like Symmetry
- Rustic is for me
- My bedroom has to be white
- I need an antique beautiful important bed [its gonna be REAL pricey...]
- Gold and brass with white = Love
- I like Chalkboard walls, way too much
- Glamour is wonderful
- Bunnies must make an appearance
I think that this is a GREAT start! Phase one shall be to paint the walls white! I will let you guys in on ANY updates!

so excited to see where this goes, and the planning part is the most fun! Enjoy it mr
Thanks mister! its gonna be a doozy!
Hi Brian! I also need help in the bedroom (and i mean the decor of course!!). I can’t decide if it’s worth investing in some paint since I live in a rental and one of the walls actually leaks/ is damp during rainy seasons which causes the paint to go all weird! I’ve been chipping away slowly at acquiring furnishings I love and i even got myself some lovely sheets… but the paint is driving me mad!
Also, i coud use some assistance in styling up my dresser. Maybe you have some idears on how to dress up a dresser on the cheap?!
xox
Darling dear Alyssa,
This is a tough one, because I believe in making a space your living in the best it can be, even if it is temporary. But thats just me! LOL. It would also drive me MAD, and if I was in this situation I would get some paint thats ment for the bathroom. Its like anti-mildo or something. It might be a little more expensive than a regular can of paint though. Let me know what you do! ALSO LOVE that persons style that you posted on the dukes facebook page! EEEEP xoxox
miss you!
Great idea!! Thanks Brian!!
