Today we are talking about artwork. Artwork is a very strange thing when decorating your home. One, because people like to pick art that’s a mass production MESS, and two because it’s so easy to have GOOD artwork on your walls with very little effort. Just use things that you ALREADY posses. DAS RIGHT LADIES, LISTEN UP. I am going to share a perfect example of working with what you got.
The area above our coffe/bar station in our kitchen was looking pretty plain jane. We needed to fill the wall up with happiness and something appropriate for the space. Lord knows im on a STRICT budget so I needed something CHEAP, but pretty, and hopefully kinda special. I remembered Daniel had an old 1960′s Betty Crocker cook book, with AMAZING illustrations in it, just sitting around for a long time. We always liked to take it out to look and laugh at the great pictures and recipes inside. Some of the titles are PRETTY AMAZING and super outdated. It got me thinking about how much we enjoyed the cook book but it was always stowed away in a cupboard. Daniel and I decided to choose 12 of our favourite pictures and frame them with simple, white frames from the dollar store. We hung them in 3 rows of 4 and I think it looks absolutely amazing. The cost was under $15.00 and now we can appreciate them everyday when we make our morning lattes! Check it out!
It’s yo boy Bri, coming at you LIVE from Montreal Canada. Todays blog post is to show you THE POWER OF MOTHA FUCKIN PAINT BICTHES! I am SUCH a HUGE believer in slapping a coat of fresh paint on ANYTHING to spruce it up or give er’ a new look. Before (as you can see) our floors were pretty nasty, but after the wave of a highly toxic floor paint wand they are given new life. I also found the cutest rugs at Urban Outfitters the other day and will show you them, liiike maybe tomorrow…maybe. Anywhoodle enough with the chit chat, here is the before and after!
Hello to all my Noodles and Poodles,
It has been such a long time since I last updates this blog of mine! There has beens so much change in the last few months, and it is WAY to overwhelming to share it with you…at least for now. I’m sure I’ll get to it eventually little by little. To some it all up? I moved from Toronto to Montreal! New apartment and lots of decorating to be done! In the next few days I will update you guys n’ gals with what my place is looking like so far. For now I will just show you what I bought today. Its super riveting and revolutionary.
Basically just handy wire baskets and cute red and white paper straws…LOL. Deal with it biznatches.
I LOVE Pinterest; you should probably follow me. I spend hours upon hours pinning, pinning, PINNING! But here’s the thing, I appreciate the pins yet never actually use them as inspiration in the practical sense. So, I’m making changes and started small by duplicating this beauteous holiday chalk drawing.
Love you doodles and poodles,
I finally finished this BITCH. It took so long for me to get motivated and just buckle down and stick 250 more holes in my wall. Anywhoodle, here she is! SHES A BEAUT CLARKE! I pulled a 14 year old girl move and boosted the colour on this photo. Deal with it. Next on my SLOW moving bedroom project is painting some night tables WHITE. Then I think it is time Daniel and I got a REAL bed. Yes folks, we are still sleeping on a mattress on the floor. I got my eye on a real show stopper at IKEA. I am just waiting for it to come into stock. I can’t wait to not have to crawl up off the floor in the morning LOL.
Later days fart weasels,
Lately I have REALLY shit the bed, and haven’t kept up with my blog. I am ashamed truly, especially because I know everyone else seems to be on the ball!
When I attended Blogpodium, it really inspired me to keep blogging away. It even inspired a new project that will be coming up shortly. I am so stoked about it, but for now I will keep it a secret. LOL! Blogpodium also supplied me with some pretty awesome free gifts. Para Paints gave out some fan decks of all their wonderful paint colours. Originally I thought I wanted to paint some stripes on my bedroom wall, but then the wheels started turning. I had a brilliant idea. I’m not sure if I had seen this somewhere or I just thought it up on my own; either way, I found myself at Staples buying 300 push pins, so I could tack all of these beautiful colours on my wall. I took some pictures along the way! Check it out!As you can see, I only had enough to do exactly half of the wall. I don’t know if I am content with this or not. Half of me thinks its fine and the other half is like “FINISH THE JOB JACKASS”. What are you guys thinking? Let me know down below!
Hello there my darling dears!
I just wanted to post some pictures from our attempt at making our little balcony a tiny bit prettier. Some SPICE, one might say ;).
I’m going to be REAL honest. Our balcony looks over a fucking empty lot of dirt, so it needs all the help it can get. Daniel and I are also living on SEVERE BUDGETS, so we put our heads together and thought “where do poor people shop?”. The answer my friends is the dollar store. We headed over and found these cheap plastic pots and spray painted them white. We also were finally able to put these cute floral buckets to use. We got them from IKEA a couple months ago, and they had been collecting dust ever since. Our balcony still needs a lot of work, even after these improvements. It’s getting there though eh!? I was also thinking about getting some outdoor tile to put down. Does anybody know where I can find some?
